Even though my career ambitions do not include directing and
technical side of filming, Creative Studio module has been an
unquestionable choice for my 2nd year of study. I would like to tie my
future with advertising and public relations. Because television is such
a widely used medium, I believe that knowledge about TV production can
help me understand issues from my fields of interest.
The first workshop confirmed my conviction, but also my fears. Looking at the multitude of jobs and roles required for smooth work on the set, I am particularly delighted with the amount of clear signals showing how much does organization means for the TV. I consider myself an efficient observer and an organized person, which is why I hope that I will have the opportunity to try the role of Floor Manager.
During the first workshop, I enjoyed working with a camera. My previous experience behind hand-handle and tripod cameras was pleasant for me, but working with the camera on the pedestal was particularly satisfying. I liked comfortable solutions used for zooming and moving the camera.
I am excited about the coming weeks, but I am also aware of my weaknesses that may make my job difficult. I noticed that when working in a group (especially a small one), I try to impose my vision too often, even when it is not my role. I can be overwhelming and I do not want to influence the group in this way. Fortunately, the group I will be working in is big, so it will be easier for me to let go and let others work.
As a native Polish speaker, I am also afraid of efficient communication on set. As a native Polish speaker, I am also afraid of efficient communication on set. I expect this module to help me feel naturally and confident talking about the professional side of the television. Until now, during this type of conversation I had no time pressure on my shoulders, and any mistakes had no consequences. In this case, I know that good communication will be the key.
